So Long, Farewell (w27-24)

After a bit of a hiatus, I think it’s time to dust off week notes.

After seven and a bit years, I left PHD Global Business on Friday.

My time at PHD was brilliant. It was a real privelege to be a Media Strategist at the spiritual home of media strategy.

I learnt an awful lot. I made some brilliant friends. But, a chance presented itself and on-balance, it was time to make a change.

Seven years is a long time. The longest I’ve ever worked anywhere, actually. I might get round to writing some more formal reflections on my time there soon. It certainly changed alot during that time. As did I.

I started a new role as Head of Consumer Insight at Hearts & Science International today. By comparison Hearts is a much less mature network. The opportunity to be part of something that is growing - and something that needs structure imposing on it - is very attractive. I move away from some brilliant colleagues and friends and am able to rejoin some others, sitting alongside some people I’ve had the fortune of knowing for a long time.

Week Notes were valuable at the end of last year - a way of spotting interesting things to write about. Now, they feel like they’ll help me as a means of processing and applying the new stuff I’m learning - both for the clients I’ll be working with, but also the agency at large.

Notice, Collect, Share. Be interested and be interesting. All that good stuff.
